Government Polytechnic celebrates Annual Day

Jammu, May 20: Government Polytechnic, Bikram Chowk, celebrated its Annual day cum Prize distribution function with great enthusiasm and fervor here today.
The 4th edition of the college Magazine "ASPIRE" was released on the occasion. Dr. Ravi Shankar Sharma, Director Technical Education, J&K was the Chief Guest on the occasion. The function started with lighting of the ceremonial lamp by distinguished guests.
Principal of the College, Er. Arun Bangotra, read the annual report and highlighted the all round achievements of the college during the year 2018-19. Due to remarkable performance of institute in year 2018, it was awarded Best Polytechnic in Northern India by NITTTR Chandigarh.
In his welcome Address he called upon the students to work with dedication and optimally utilize their skill to meet the challenges of the competitive world.
Dr. Ravi Shankar Sharma while speaking on the occasion, appreciated the efforts of the Principal of the college and staff for organizing various activities during the academic session 2018-19. He also appreciated the students for their academic excellence and felicitated all the students for their excellence in academics, participation in sports and other co-curricular activities at State and National Level.
A cultural bonanza was presented by the students depicting rich cultural heritage of the state. The cultural Programme started with a Saraswati Vandana by Palak, Ritika and group. A Patriotic Song "Ae Watan" was presented by Shubam and Mannat. A Dogri Dance was presented by Vandana, Preeti and group. Mannat mesmerized the audience with their soulful voice and guitar play by presenting a song. A Punjabi folk dance, Gidda was presented by Vishali, Nisha and group. Sahil presented a Rap song written and composed by himself on Students life. Gundeep, Payal, Pupinder enthralled the audience with Bangra and in the last Fashion Designing students of college Tamana, Vaishali along with their group presented a Fashion show depicting the various dresses prepared by the Fashion Designing students of the college.
The Editors of Colleges Magazine ASPIRE Er Jasdeep Kour, Er Sanam Gupta along with Er Rameez Rashid, Er Akash Dasgotra, Mr Darshan Chalotra and Ms Surekha Rani faculty of the college were also awarded. The prizes were distributed to Academic meritorious students, students who excelled in National and state level events in Sports and co-curricular activities and Students Editorial Board of college Magazine during the function.
