Inter-college quiz competition held at Govt Degree College Doda

Doda, May 21: An inter-college quiz competition on the life of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was jointly organised by the Departments of Arabic and Urdu, Govt Degree College Doda today.
The quiz was a part of the series of academic activities being organised under the banner of Literary Club of the college.
The event was graced by the principal of the college Dr Shafqat Hussain Rafiqi who was also the chief guest on the occasion.
Seven teams participated in the said competition and around three hundred students watched the event which was hosted by Dr Akhter Hussain HoD Urdu. Dr Anaytullah Nadwi presided over the function and managed the event with the help of other faculty members of the college.
The first prize was awarded to Team Fatima which was headed by Rinku Devi whereas Team Abul Hassan Nadwi (headed by Ather Khursheed) and Team Asma (headed by Atiya Bano) got the second and third prize respectively.
During the prize distribution ceremony Dr Rafiqi along with Dr J I Tramboo, Prof Ashwani Kumar, Prof Falak, Dr Jamsheed Ahmad, Dr Anita Kotwal, Dr Tasir Sharief, Prof Ashraf and Prof Zain Batt felicitated the winners who were awarded with mementos and books.
In his speech the principal congratulated the organisers and assured the students that more programmes would be organised in future to hone the hidden talent of the students.
The programme ended with a formal vote of thanks by Dr Imtiyaz Ahmed.
