Teacher beats class 4 student for 'making noise'

Jammu, May 21: In an alleged case of corporal punishment, a teacher in Inderwal Zone of Kishtwar district beat a student of 4th class identified as Masroor Ahmed Malik son of Zubair Ahmed Malik of Mohri Maliknar Chatroo, studying at Primary School Mohri in Kishtwar district for making noise in the class room.
As per the details available with "Early Times", the accused teacher was identified as Taqveer Ahmed, who according to the father of the victim child, beat him mercilessly for creating noise in the class while he also kicked his 5 year old sister.
Zubair Ahmed, father of the victim has now approached the office of Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar seeking action against the erring teacher.
Zubair Ahmed said that the incident took place on Monday and being a resident of far flung area, he reached Kishtwar today and paraded his son in front of Deputy Commissioner who directed Chief Education Officer Kishtwar to inquire the matter.
The CEO Kishtwar Kuldeep Kumar Sharma told the "Early Times" that after receiving an information about the incident, he directed ZEO Inderwal to look into the matter and assured action against the teacher in case he was found guilty.
Meanwhile ZEO Inderwal Mir Ali has sought an explanation from the accused teacher and has also withheld his salary.
In the meantime ZEO Inderwal constituted three member committee headed by Master Ghulam Ali, Headmaster GMS Chatroo while Romesh Kumar Bhandari, Master HS Inderwal and Jawaz Ahmed, Teacher UPS Arigam will assist him in the inquiry.
