Grenade attacks in Srinagar, Awantipora, two civilians injured

Srinagar, May 23: Two civilians were injured on Thursday in a grenade attack by suspected militants on Central Reserve Police Force and police party deployed near a police station Awantipora in south Kashmir district of Anantnag. While as another grenade was lobbed at the 25th BN CRPF camp near Tagore Hall in Srinagar.
The first grenade attack took place in South Kashmir; however, the grenade missed the target and exploded at a distance from the patrolling party, resulting in minor injuries to two civilians. "The injured were immediately rushed to a hospital," the sources said.
The militants managed to escape due to the chaos created due to the explosion. "Additional security forces have been rushed to the area and a search operation has been launched to nab the attackers in the Awantipora," they said.
In Srinagar, the grenade attack took at CRPF camp near Tagore Hall. An official said that the suspected militants lobbed a grenade at CRPF camp in Srinagar.
However, there were no immediate reports of any injury or damage. Soon after the attack, forces cordoned off the area and launched a hunt for the attackers.
