Early Times Report

Jammu, May 23: An emergency press conference has been called by various Sikh Organisations under the banner of Panthic Morcha Jammu (J&K) regarding the issue of a poster which has become viral on the social media. In the said poster, a programme is going to be organized on 9th of June 2019 at Teachers Bhawan, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu in the memory of Baba Banda Singh Bahadur. In the said poster they have mentioned Baba Banda Singh Bahadur as "Vir Banda Bairagi Ji" which is wrong and intention seem to hurt the sentiments of Sikh Community. It is said that he was born as Laxman Dev in Rajouri in Jammu and Kashmir in a Rajput family. He was interested in hunting from very young age , and one day he killed a pregnant doe. The sight of dying kids as he cut open the doe deeply impacted him and in search of inner peace he left his home at a very tender age. He first spent some time with Bairagi (Renunsciate) order of saints and after some time got interested in "Tantra" and under tutelage of one able teacher he started learning and was named as Madho Das. He spent almost two decades learning and practicing Tantra and then moved to south / central India and set up his hermitage on banks of Godawari. Slowly he became so proficient in Tantric practices, that even highly spiritual saints too were afraid to face his powers. The then Chief of that order of saints seriously requested Guru Gobind Singh Ji not to proceed towards Nanded on account of occult powers of Madho Das.
