CEO Udh violated MCC with 'impunity'
5/25/2019 12:12:49 AM

Early Times Report
Jammu, May 24: The Chief Education Officer Udhampur has allegedly violated government orders by not complying with the directions to detach teachers. He has ostensibly made attachments of teachers when Model Code of Conduct was at place.
Sources told Early Times that CEO Udhampur attached a teacher from Zone Ghordi in the Planning Section of his office despite required staff being available in this section. The teacher in question was attached when Model Code of Conduct was in place on May 15, 2019. Astonishingly this teacher has remained attached on many occasions in the past also due to his "good connections" with the higher ups, sources alleged.
In another gross violation, a RET teacher in Zone Majalta has never attended his duties in school and has remained attached with ZEO office since his appointment defeating the very purpose of the RET teacher. "Although he has been regularized but he is still enjoying attachment," the source added.
Moreover, many other teachers were attached in Cultural Cell of the department by the Chief Education Officer. These teachers, according to the sources, have no knowledge about the operations, and functioning of Cultural Cell and have been enjoying their stay in the Cell as they have nothing to do. One of the teachers with master grade has been attached in Cultural Cell for the past 3-4 years, they added.
Recently, many cases of attachments surfaced in various zones of Udhampur and inquiries were initiated by the Director School Education Jammu. These enquiries are still pending and interestingly the CEO Udhampur was directed to cooperate with the inquiry officer to complete the probe but now the CEO himself is under scanner for this gross violation, sources added
