Apni Mandi commences at Tapyal

PURMANDAL, May 25: An Awareness program for promoting horticulture marketing facilities at 'Apni Mandi' at Tapyal here at Data Da Talab was organised today.
The chief guest SDM Vijaypur Vijay Kumar and Chief Horticulture Officer Samba, AGMO Anuj Verma and others spoke to the gathering comprising Sarpanchs, Panchs, orchardists of Purmandal block and prominent citizens of Gaghwal block.
The SDM exhorted upon the farmers and orchardists to take benefit of facility created by the government at Apni Mandi Tapyal. He laid stress on proper preconditioning, cleaning, sorting, grading, packing and branding of their produce.
Regarding, the unaffordable high freight cost to carry produce from far flung area to Apni Mandi at Tapyal, the AGMO and CHO Samba assured to highlight this problem with the district administration.
The CHO Samba asked farmers to have compact orchards for sufficient quantity of marketable surplus and shift to production of high value crops like flaxseeds, lemon grass etc. HDO Purmandal Shreshtha Slathia, HDO Samba, AEO Vijaypur, Sarpanch, Ex Sarpanch, Prashant Sharma from Baddi Kalan, Rasal Singh from Katwalta and Karan Singh from Gaghwal also addressed the gathering.
