| Eco-friendly incense stick making unit started | | | Jammu, May 25: Under Jammu and Kashmir State Rural Livelihood Mission (JKSRLM) an eco-friendly incense stick making unit near Kol Kandoli Mata Temple Nagrota utilising locally available bio resources including waste flowers. With an aim to boom small scale enterprise of incense sticks that has made its presence in the International market. In continuance with providing self employment opportunities to the rural women Additional Mission Director JKSRLM (UMEED), Sham Lal today visited block Dansal where he took the stock of an incense stick making unit started by female SHG members and also interacted with SHG members of Panjgrain village organisation regarding friendly utensil making enterprise out of leaves and Paper.
In addition the AMD also laid stress and encouraged/ motivate upon start of such environment friendly units and replicate in other block also.
Adding further he said that "This unique facility could be used to display and sell various products made by the women among the pilgrims and thus giving rise to a new entrepreneurial possibility of work with worship. |
