Early Times Report

Jammu, May 26: Even as return of Modi in the Lok Sabha elections is driving more leaders from Congress to join the saffron brigade, the State unit of Bhartiya Janata Party is no more interested in new entries. Those who were waiting for Lok Sabha election results to decide their future course of action and now knocking at BJP door for an entry, are getting no response from the party of their future politics notwithstanding an open for joining the saffron folds earlier.
Sources in the BJP circles said that State unit of the party is no more interested for taking more leaders from Congress or any other party into its fold. These leaders from other parties were already in touch with the BJP for the last more than a month but had delayed the final decision of shifting their loyalty because of their doubts over return of NDA in the Lok Sabha elections. However, sources said, the clean sweep by BJP in the elections dashed all their hopes of Congress revival and to avoid further delay, they are now rushing to BJP leaders for their entry into the saffron fold even as Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir are unlikely to be held soon. On the other hand, the State unit of BJP now seems no more interested for the entry of more leaders from Congress and other parties and this is the reason that despite repeated attempts from the latter, the party is avoiding contact with them. Even as there has been no direction from the party high command in this regard, sources said that the aspirants for entry into the party are being avoid on the pressure from senior leaders of BJP State unit, who are already feeling a threat to their own existence in the party because of new entrants, particularly those have strong bases among the masses.
