Early Times Report

JAMMU, May 26: One day workshop was organized by the central body of J & K Private schools Association for the designated members of Private schools of District Reasi to deliberate on the new polices of state government for the recognition and Fixation of fee of Private Educational Institution by FFC. The Zonal Education Officer Reasi Tashi Wangyal along with Kuldip Khajuria Zonal Educational Planning officer Reasi were the special invitees. The members of Private schools from entire district discussed that governments at centre and at the state are working together to bring uniformity in the entire education system but lapses are still prevailing. The Government has made mandatory for all the private schools to provide safety certificates viz fire safety certificate, building safety certificate, chemical safety certificate and others. While obtaining recognition / permission of a Private school whereas all other establishments (coaching centers, tutorials, hobby centers, play way schools etc.) having same nature of work are left unbridled. Recent killing of 22 students in a coaching/tutorial centre at Surat in Gujarat has raised a question for all the safety monitoring agencies at the centre and the state level.
General Secretary of JKPSA Ajay Gupta said that safety and security is a paramount concern of all the students. To avert such type of incidence in the state he appealed and demanded safety audit viz fire safety, building safety, chemical safety and others. of all coaching centers, tutorials, hobby centers, play way schools etc. from the state government. Besides this check of fee by FFC and recognition of all educational establishment as per SRO123 of 2010 and SRO 292 of 2018 to bring uniformity in the entire system of education in the state was also demanded.
President of the Association Rameshwar Mengi urged the house not to commercialize the education for the personal gains. For the regulation of fee submit the files to the Chairman Fee Fixation Committee as early as possible to avoid de recognition, he added.
