Awareness programme on drug abuse, physical fitness organized

JAMMU, May 29: Shiksha Niketan Senior Secondary School Jammu today organised a Programme on Drug Menace ,Physical Fitness and Traffic Rules in its auditorium in which Shrikant Balasaheb, SDM Jammu South was the Chief Guest, Farooq Qaiser, JKPS,SP Hqtrs Jammu was the Guest of honour and noted Social Activist & Chairman - Kotli Colony Chandan Dutta was Special Guest.
Renowned Physical Fitness Promoter Malvi Gupta also witnessed the event. The motive of the programme was to create awareness among students against drug abuse and its symptoms and to encourage them to stay fit and healthy.Besides, various students of 12th standard who brought laurels to the School in the result of 12th standard were rewarded with Certificates and Medals. A presentation on Latest Trends in Drug Abuse was given by Insp Gurnam Choudary, Nodal Officer, Anti Dugs Task Force, Jammu.
Noted Social Activist SChandan Dutta threw light on the prevailing crisis of drug abuse and asked the students to contribute their bit to eradicate this menace from Jammu.
Guest of Honour, Farooq Qaiser in his address urged the students, teachers and parents to come forward and help Jammu Police in its war against drug menace.
Chief Guest Shrikant Balasaheb, SDM Jammu South speaking on the occasion asked the students to be focused and honest in pursuit of their goals and said that only sky is the limit for those who are willing to seek.
Principal Shiksha Niketan Higher Secondary School Rameshwar Mengi, who also presided over the function, urged the students to stay away from drug abuse, work hard to pursue their aims and play an important role in nation building.
