JAMMU, May 29: Delhi Public School, Jammu today organized Guest Lectures Programme on Drug Awareness for senior students. The Resource Persons were Dr. T.R Raina, M.D (Path), former Professor & Head, Post Graduate Department of Blood Transfusion, Govt. Medical College, Jammu and Dr. Gurmeet Kour, Specialist in Mental Health, Incharge-Drug Addiction Centre, Govt. Medical College, Jammu.
The programmes were conducted to sensitize the students about the issue of Drug Abuse. While Dr. T.R Raina talked about the physiological and societal effects of taking drugs, Dr. Gurmeet delved into the potential dangers and health problems associated with drugs, alcohol and smoking. She also made children take a pledge on 'Say No To Drugs'.
Principal, DPS Jammu, Ruchi Chabra cautioned the students to stay away from drugs and become aware about the potential dangers and health problems associated with drug abuse.
The vote of thanks was presented by Umesh Kumar Sharma, Chief Coordinator. The whole event was compered by Neha Mahajan and Aditi Sharma. |
