Early Times Report JAMMU, May 29: Continuing his commitment to provide better development facilities to the people of Jammu city, Mayor, Jammu Municipal Corporation, Chander Mohan Gupta today toured the areas of Janipur Housing Colony and its adjoining localities of Ward No 36. During his whirlwind tour, the Mayor listened to the problems of inhabitants of that locality. Subash Sharma, councilor of Ward No 36, Arun Gupta XEN JMC, Mohd Taj Choudhary, XEN UEED, Dr Zaffar Iqbal, MVO JMC, Dr Saleem Khan, Health Officer, Prem Raj Transport Officer, JMC were also present during the tour. People demanded that the work of left over nallah and deep drains may be completed well before rainy season, lifting of stray animals/dogs on routine basis, providing of new and repairing of defunct street lights and proper sanitation drive and fogging may be done to prevent the spread of dengue in this season. Mayor directed XEN (UEED) to expedite the work of construction of nallah and deep drains in the area and asked the other officers to look into the grievances of the residents on war footing. Mayor also took the successful trial of precious cable car project of Jammu which is lying pending from Peer Kho to Mahamaya temple along with Purnima Sharma, Deputy Mayor, ex-minister Priya Sethi, ex-MLA Rajesh Gupta, all the three chairmen of respective committees of JMC, concerned councilors of that area, officers of JMC and Tourism department & representatives of cable car project. |
