JAMMU, May 31: Having passion for exploring new destinations in far off places like Ladakh and Himachal Pradesh, Jammu bike riders extended Swachh Bharat Abhiyan to Indo-China border at Chutkul area and other surrounding areas of Kinnaur district of HP where they campaigned among the local populace and appraised them about the advantages of SBA. Three riders from Jammu Munish Mehra, Satish Sharma and Vikran Mehta set off to a journey to cover odd 2500 kms on motorcycles to and fro from Jammu to Kaza, Spiti. They travelled to Kaza via Jalori pass, Mandi covering Chitkul and then Spiti. While riding is a passion for them, their motive was to make people aware about the ill effects of the waste that generally tourists dump in the sub Himalayas. The places they covered include Jibhi, Chitkul, Nako village, Tabo, Gue monestry, Kaza, Kee monestry, Kibber, Chichim, world's highest polling station in Tashigang, worlds highest post office in Hikkim, worlds highest village connected with motorable road in Kaumic, Pin valley national park, Kalpa and then back to Jammu. They launched cleanliness programme among the locals in these areas which are situated in the highest altitude from the sea level. These are associated with TBRC (The Bull Riders Cafe) and NER (North Extreme Riders) which are not only Riders Clubs but have passion to explore new destinations in the country and they have been riding for a cause since its formation. They have been able to hightlight the unseen places which gives a constant boost to the local and national tourism. |
