DLSA organizes multi services camp for Senior Citizens

Jammu, June 11: In compliance to the directions of the Chief Justice of the J&K High Court, Patron-in-Chief of J&K State Legal Services Authority, Gita Mittal, District Legal Services Authority, Jammu today organised a Multi services camp for senior citizens at the Old Age Home Amphalla, Jammu as part of the "Ageing with Dignity" campaign under the Chairmanship of Principal District & Sessions Judge, Jammu, Vinod Chatterji Koul, and under the overall supervision of Secretary, District Legal Services Authority Jammu Naushad Ahmed Khan.
In this context, District Legal Services Authority, Jammu had invited a team of Doctors from Government Hospital comprising Dr. Pankaj Singh (MD) Medicines, Dr. Renu Gupta. Consultant (Gynecologist), Dr. Nishu (Dermatologist), Dr. Vinod Dhar (Psychiatrist), Palak Gupta, (Pharmacist), Sanjay Dubey, Sr. Lab technician at Old Age Home Amphalla Jammu to ascertain the health needs and for ensuring their treatment both physical as well as mental illness of senior citizens. To foster the intergenerational bonding, District Legal Services Authority Jammu also invited the children of the Bal Niketan Amphalla and adjoining area to have interaction with the inmates of the Old Age Home. During the camp, the team of doctors at Old Age Home also examined the Children of Bal Niketan Amphalla. Also in the camp, district Legal Services Authority, Jammu had also invited District Social Welfare, Department at Old Age Home Amphalla to sensitize and aware the masses especially the senior citizens about various existing schemes and programmes designed by district social welfare department for the well being of the senior citizens. District Social Welfare Department had also deputed their staff members to explain the operational mechanism of the existing policies to the senior citizens and also to assist the desirous senior citizens in availing the benefits of the policies on the spot therein, in the camp.
Secretary, District Legal Services Authority Jammu and Chairman District Legal Services Authority Jammu also interacted with the senior citizens and the invited children with respect to their grievances, health, hardships, living conditions etc.
Later, Wheel Chairs were also provided to the needy senior citizens inmates of Old Age Home, Amphalla, Jammu.
