6/12/2019 11:21:22 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, June 12: Thathri Development Front (TDF) concern over the has expressed its grave concern over the neglect of erstwhile Doda district-presently Ramban, Kishtwar and Doda districts which are comprised of mostly hilly, backward and inaccessible areas- by the successive governments is unabated even during the Governor's administration.
The members of TDF including Ram Rattan Manhas, K K Rao, Advocate Kanwarjeet Singh Thakur, Om Raj Bhall, Layaqat Ali, Behari Lal Bhagat and Yog Raj Sharma in a statement issued here, said that the erstwhile Doda district is still facing official apathy and discrimination despite president's rule.
They said that not to speak of all round development of erstwhile Doda because of its rich resources in the sectors of Hydro-electric power potential which is around 20,000 MWs, rich green gold forests, Gypsum, Mica, world famous Sapphire Mines, mesmerizing scenic spots and rich herbal medicinal plants, the area is still being discriminated even during President's rule.
Even when the proposed Medical College Doda sanctioned for erstwhile Doda district amongst 4 other Colleges for J&K state, will not start classes this year while others-for Rajouri, Kathua, Baramulla and Anantnag shall have admission for 100 seats each during current session, they said and alleged as to why Medical council of India has again chosen erstwhile Doda to be as a scape goat?
They urged upon the Union Minister in PMO, Dr Jitendra Singh to use his good offices in starting 100 seats admission for Doda Medical College also.
