Fact-finding committees likely to submit report by June 14 | | | Ishtiyaq Ahmad Early Times Report srinagar, June 12: The fact-finding committees headed by senior officers to find irregularities in government business are likely to submit their report by June 14, official sources told Early Times. Based on a large number of complaints coming to Governor's administration from various quarters regarding irregularities in the functioning of different departments, the government had constituted fact-finding committees. The fact-finding committees were asked to look into irregularities in appointments in JK Sports Council and Skill Development, awarding dredging and macadamization contracts, and lack of progress in implementation of SWAN Project. Each fact-finding committee is headed by a senior officer and was asked to submit its findings in a time-bound manner. One of the fact-finding committees was asked to examine illegal/irregular appointments in JK Sports Council and the Youth Services and Sports Department from 2010-2018 and identify those responsible for irregularities, if any. The committee is chaired by the Principal Secretary (Home). Another committee was asked to look into all fraudulent appointments in the Skill Development Department and any autonomous body /corporation/organization under it from 2010-2018. The committee is headed by Commissioner/Secretary, Forest. One more fact-finding committee was asked to look into the irregularities in awarding/implementation of dredging contracts in the Jhelum river and elsewhere by the I&FC Department and by LAWDA from 2010-2018 and identify those responsible for irregularities, if any. The committee is headed by Principal Secretary, H&UDD and include Commissioner /Secretary, Revenue and Commissioner/ Secretary, PHE/I&FC Another committee was asked to examine irregularities in awarding and implementation of macadamization contracts from 2010-2018 and identify those responsible for irregularities, if any. The committee is headed by Principal Secretary, Finance and include Principal Secretary, Planning and MD, JKPCC. The government has also asked the fact-finding committee to look into the reasons for delay in implementation of SWAN Project by the IT Department and irregularities, if any. The committee is headed by Principal Secretary, Transport and includes Principal Secretary, Industries and Secretary, Higher Education. |
