Sharma holds public grievance camp at Jammu

JAMMU, June 15: As part of the ongoing public outreach programme under the aegis of JK Governor's Grievance cell, scores of public delegations, individuals met Advisor to Governor, K K Sharma to apprised him about their issues and grievances at Convention centre canal road , here today.
Over 250 people participated in the Grievance camp and projected a number of issues seeking immediate redressal for their concerns.
Deputy Mayor Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) Poornima Sharma met with the Advisor and put forth various issues pertaining to JMC including demand for reorganization and finalizing of recruitment rules of JMC, modernization of slaughter houses, construction of amusement park at Jagti, digitalization of residential and commercial properties in the city and many others. She also suggested for appointment of Mayor and Deputy Mayor as the Board of Directors in Jammu Smart City project.
Ex legislator Rajesh Gupta projected the issues related to augmentation of water supply scheme and up-gradation of power infrastructure in Jammu East constituency.
A deputation of JDA Plot owners requested for possession of land in their favor at the earliest. Advisor took note of their issue and said that issue would be looked into. During the hearing, Advisor also passed direction to the JDA to undertake fencing of all JDA land to prevent encroachment.
All J&K Panchayat Conference projected the issues of Sarpanches and Panches. The delegation also raised several issues of block Bishnah pertaining to Revenue Department, bifurcation of ration cards, holding public grievance Camp at Bishnah, release of pending MGNREGA liabilities lying with RDD, up-gradation of power infrastructure at Prithipur colony, construction of road at Chak Jaralan, plantation drive on both sides of the water channel and play ground at Chak Jaralan, Palli Morh, Kanhal and Soura. They also demanded up-gradation of roads, drains, tracks between Baba Farid Nagar at Panchayat Sehora.
Another delegation of PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Jammu region projected various issues which including participation of stake holders for effective amendments in Jammu Master Plan, creation of visitor's car parking/pick-up and drop off point at Jammu airport, early completion of work at Jammu Akhnoor highway from 4th bridge to Muthi, Construction of flyover at Satwari - Airport road, up-gradation of Mughal road for all weather operation, early completion of work of railway link with Kashmir valley, introduction of Jammu -Delhi Shatabdi train, Jammu-Chandigarh Shatabdi train, Jammu-Amritsar chair car train, creation of green park at Bhagwati Nagar, recommencement of work for Jambu Zoo, recommencement of work for artificial lake at Tawi river bed, introduction of Hindi or English language in revenue record in Jammu division and in subordinate courts as well, intervention for continuation of stated government policy of charging industrial power tariff to hotels, refund of GST on hotels, early completion of road work between railway station Katra to New Bus stand SMVD University, installation of dedicated Industrial feeder line at Hiranagar Industrial Estate.
A delegation from Transport Nagar, Narwal demanded for regular sanitation of the area, repairing and maintenance of internal roads, drainage system, installation of street lights, plantation and beautification of Transport Nagar. The delegation also raised the issues of road connectivity at industrial area Kangrail.
Representative of Ward No. 35, JMC led by its Councilor demanded for improvement of parks, improvement of drinking water distribution system in their area. Similarly, members of civil society, Laxmi Nagar Bohri urged for development of eco Friendly Park in their locality. Meanwhile, deputation from Ward No 59 led by its Councilor urged for replacement of electric wires and augmentation of water supply scheme.
Many other delegations of state government employees of various departments raised their service issues.
The Advisor giving patient hearing to the deputations said that the merit of each demand will be analyzed and action will be taken on priority to redress genuine issues put forth during the meeting. He also gave on spot directions on issues that could be immediately redressed.
