J&K not a fiefdom of Kashmiri leaders, all 3 regions are equal
Jammu, Ladakh regions deserve more Assembly seats

Early Times Report

Jammu, June 16: Since the day Lok Sabha elections have ended, Kashmir centric politicians have disappeared from the scene.
These leaders during their campaign for parliamentary elections were vocal about various issues. "It seems Prime Minister Narendra Modi returning to power has left them shell shocked and they don't know how to react," said an analyst.
He said, "If one goes by the performance of Kashmir centric parties in the recently held Lok Sabha polls it's easy to predict that none of the parties have made much impact and the verdict of the people has been split. Another factor which is worrying the Kashmir based parties is that if people keep on staying away from elections then the mainstream political parties in the Valley would have no say."
A Kashmir watcher said that for time being Kashmiri politicians have taken a break and the speculations about the Government of India mulling to defreeze the delimitation have added to their worries. "During the past seventy years Kashmiri politicians were made to believe by the regimes in New Delhi that J&K is their fiefdom and Kashmiri only can hold the Chief Minister's office. That perception is changing fast due to the changing political scenario across the country," he said.
"The people, who were talking about reversing the clock to 1947, have got a befitting reply in the recently held parliamentary polls. The Kashmiri politicians have realized that entire country has given a clear mandate to the Prime Minister Modi to crush the terrorism, separatism and sedition in the Valley. The mandate is clear that Kashmir is an integral part of the country and whosoever tries to question the accession would have to face the music," the Kashmir watcher added.
A politician said, "If the Government of India decides to defreeze the delimitation it would be a big victory for the nationalist forces in Jammu and Kashmir. Jammu and Ladakh regions deserve more Assembly seats as people of both these regions are nationalists to the core. They don't boycott elections and do participate in the poll process whole heartedly."
He said that "the delimitation would end the hegemony of Kashmir centric politicians, who during all these years despite enjoying all the privileges have been talking in the language of separatists. J&K needs a strong Chief Minister, who can pull out the Valley from the mess and restore normalcy there. One cannot expect Kashmiri leaders to safeguard the national interests."
