6/18/2019 10:40:00 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, June 18: A local court on Tuesday rejected the bail applications of two persons identified as Ajeet Singh alias Rajan and Avilash Mandi who are allegedly involved in NDPS case.
Additional Sessions Judge Jammu Tahir Kurshid Raina, after hearing Senior PO Raj Kumar for the State and Advocates KS Chib and DK Mottan for the applicants, observed that the accused are booked for the same offences, that is, 8/21/22 NDPS Act, one by the police station Satwari, Jammu, and another by police station Bishnah, Jammu.
"As the offences are common in both the applications, I felt apt to dispose off both the bail applications by this common order. The accused are nabbed by the police on account of carrying heroin. Ajeet Singh alias Rajan was found to have in his possession 10 to 12 gm heroin, whereas Avilash Mandi was having 5.5 gm of the heroin in his possession. In both the cases FIRs are registered, investigation is going on and the contraband which has been prima facie found to be heroin has been sent to FSL for expert opinion," the court observed. "Keeping in view the gravity of the offences and its impact on the society and the stage of the investigation, I feel very convinced to exercise the discretion reposed in this court by the code by rejecting the instant bail applications of the accused," the court observed.
