SKUAST-Jammu conducts CET-2019 for PG, UG Courses

JAMMU, June 23: SKUAST-J conducted Common Entrance Test-2019 for admission to the undergraduate courses of BSc (Hon) Agriculture, B Tech Biotechnology and BV Sc and A H streams for the academic year 2019-2020 today. The entrance examination was held at 5 centers located in the premises of Government College for Women Parade Ground Jammu; Government Polytechnic (Boys), Bikram Chowk, Jammu; National Institute of Technology, Indira Nagar, Miran Sahib, Jammu; Faculty of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry, R S Pura; and Faculty of Agriculture, Chatha. There has been an overwhelming response of the students for admission to various undergraduate programmes of the University. Out of total 2750 applicants, comprising of 1510 girls (55%) and 1240 boys (45%), 2249 (81.78%) applicants appeared in the entrance test. The test was conducted smoothly with appreciable support of the staff and the Principals and Deans of the above mentioned institutions. Moreover, CET (PG) 2019 was conducted at main campus, Chatha of the University yesterday. In all 356 (89%) of the applicants appeared in the test for admission to various Master's Degree Programmes of Agriculture, Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry, Sericulture, Agricultural Engineering, Biotechnology, Statistics, Basic Sciences, Forestry stream. In all 183 girls (51%) & 173 boys (49 %) appeared in the test.
The selection of the candidate shall me made after counseling. The schedule of the counseling shall be made available on the university website www.skuast.org after the declaration of the results of the entrance test.
The answer key of the question papers shall be uploaded on university web site shortly. Objections, if any, related to key shall be entertained up to 5.00 PM of 27 June, 2019.
The academic year 2019-20 is scheduled to ensue from 5th August, 2019.
