IG reviews traffic arrangements for ensuing Amarnath Yatra

JAMMU, June 23: Alok Kumar, IGP Traffic J&K alongwith Mohan Lal Kaith, SSP Traffic Rural Jammu visited Lakhanpur to review the traffic arrangements in connection with forthcoming Shree Amarnath Ji Yatra, 2019, commencing w.e.f. 1ST July, 2019 During the visit IGP Traffic J&K has directed that the structure of Reception Center at Lakhanpur needs to be upgraded which is the main entrance/face of the J&K State. The Reception Center stands established to provide all possible help and logistic support to pilgrims of SANJY. Incharge Reception Center Lakhanpur has also been directed to conduct one time documents checking of yatri vehicles and pasting of stickers to avoid any inconvenience to the pilgrims enroute during yatra. The main Yatra route stretch from Lakhanpur to Bari Brahamana has been divided into l0 zones where suitable motor bikers duly fitted PA system at each 10 Kms shall be deployed for assisting and helping the pilgrims and also ensure hassle free movement of Yatra Vehicles.
Moreover, Traffic Rural Jammu in collaboration with District Police shall establish Special Nakas at all the link roads falling on NHW from Lakhanpur to Bari Brahamana, so that a smooth and convenient passage may be given to the Yatra Vehicles on priority basis.
Also held interaction with 15 numbers Motorcyclist from Bangalore and Hyderabad etc at Mansar Morh Samba and assured them if they face any traffic related inconvenience in State they can contact IGP Traffic J&K on Telephone and their problems will be solved .
Besides, held a meeting with Traffic, District and Para military forces officers at Lakhanpur and visited lodgment centers en-route and Traffic Naka points at Mansar More and Dayala Chak etc. All the officers present in the meeting were also briefed and directed to exert their efforts to make the safe and hassle free movement of Yatra Vehicles for the convenience of yatris.
