Drainage, Garbage dumping main issue in Trikuta Nagar Extn area

Jammu, June 24: The extended area of Trikuta Nagar which include Marble Market, Mattoo Colony, Satyam Vihar, Friends Colony and Sector 1A, 1B, 1C extension having major issues of Garbage dumping and drainage problems. The inhabitants of the area ridiculed the government for its neglecting attitude towards the area which is newly developed colonies. B.L. Bhat, a retired bureaucrat said that the drainage system in the area is the biggest problem and the drains always remain choked the JMC has put their men but they need more men. Joginder Kumar, Naman Meenia and Sham Lal Meenia of Satyam Vihar were of the opinion that the lane is always full of drain water and it becomes difficult for the residents to pass through the area. There is also foul smells spreading out of drain water. The present dispensation is trying to mitigate the problem Vijay Kumar, Rattan Lal Choudhary, S.R. Ghai informed that whenever rain comes, we spend sleepless night as water in drain gushes into our house due to faulty drainage system. Moreover, the rainy season is round the corner, and the problem will multiply manifold due to its blockage. Santosh and Rita of Mattoo colony said, there is an open nallah just opposite to their house which always emit bad smell in the area. They demanded that this nullah should be covered soon as rainy season is round the corner. Meanwhile, other residents also raised the issue of garbage littering all over the area. The garbage is dumped on the road side on many places which creating problem for the residents as well as far the passersby. The all requested that the garbage all along the roadside and canal should be lifted and the drain should get cleaned on regular basis.
