Hirdesh takes on-spot review of flagship schemes in rural areas

Jammu, June 26: Commissioner Secretary, JKPDD, Hirdesh Kumar today paid a visit to the rural areas of Jammu District namely Mathwar, Sarote, Rabta and other adjoining villages to have on-spot review of progress achieved under the schemes like DDUGJY, PMDP-Rural etc. The visit was intended to speed up the pace of execution of works while resolving the issues, if any, intervening in their progress to ensure completion well within the timelines.
He was accompanied by a team of officers, including Chief Engineer, EMRE Wing, Jammu, Sudhir Gupta, Chief Engineer, Project Wing, Jammu, Manhar Gupta, Nodal Officer, Sanjay Sharma and Superintending Engineers of respective Circles and representatives from the implementing agencies.
The officers briefed him about infrastructure additions being made under the said schemes and the consequent improvement in power supply position, expected thereupon. While interacting with the villagers, Hirdesh sensitized them about the vision of providing round the clock power supply is not limited to urban areas only but is equally applicable for rural consumers as well.
He further added that these ongoing schemes are a part of the roadmap towards the said objective and are governed by definite timelines.
During his visit, Hirdesh also inaugurated a newly constructed 3.15 MVA, 33/11 kV Receiving Station at Mathwar, which was commissioned today and added into the system. He commended the officers of the Department for completing the said Receiving Station within a record time of merely 4 months.
