Expedite pace of work on construction of bunkers: Div Com to DCs

JAMMU, July 2: Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Sanjeev Verma today directed the executing agencies and Deputy Commissioners to set weekly/monthly targets and expedite the pace on construction of individual and community bunkers.
The Div Com issued these directions while chairing a meeting with Deputy Commissioners of border districts to review the progress on construction of bunkers along international border in Jammu Division.
The meeting was attended by senior officers of executing agencies while Deputy Commissioners of Kathua, Samba, Rajouri and Poonch along with Engineers of PWD and RDD attended the meeting through video conferencing.
The Deputy Commissioners apprised the Div Com of the progress of works on under construction individual and community bunkers in their respective districts.
DCs informed that there are some disputed sites which is hampering works in some areas.
DC Samba informed that 902 bunkers have been completed so far in the district while rest of bunkers are in different stages of construction. DC Kathua informed that 928 bunkers have been completed in district Kathua while 107 are in different stages of construction.
DC Jammu, Rajouri, Poonch also informed about the number of bunkers completed so far and number of bunkers in foundation level, superstructure level, and slap level.
The Div Com also sought the details of supply and availability of construction material in all the districts. He also directed the DCs for effective monitoring of construction of bunkers for quality and timely completion of these vital works.
