J&K Branch of the ICAI celebrates 70th CA Day

Srinagar, July 2: The J&K Branch of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) celebrated its 70th CA. Foundation Day which was also attended by dignitaries Sanjeev Verma (Divisional Commissioner, Jammu) and former Minister CA. Sat Sharma.
The celebrations started off with Flag Hoisting ceremony at ICAI Bhawan, Canal Road Jammu which was followed by blood donation camp in collaboration with theDepartment of Blood Transfusion & immunohematology, GMC, Jammu in which large number of Chartered Accountants & CA. Students participated overwhelmingly & donated blood. A free Ayurvedic Medical Health Checkup along with free distribution of medicine wasalso organized by Ayushkamiya Ayurvediya Panchkarma Chakitsalyaon the occasion. Former cabinet Minister J&K Govt.CA. Sat Sharma while attending the function, greeted the chartered accountants on CA. Day lauded therole of chartered accountants in general & the J&K Branch of ICAI in particular for holding various events such as Yoga Day ,plantation drive, Swatch Bharat Abhiyaan, 5 K run , Blood Donation &Ayurvedic Camp etc. during the CA Week.
In the evening, afamily get together was also organized wherein apart from holding fun filled activities, newly qualified chartered Accountants of the branch were also felicitated by the Chief Guest, Sh.SanjeevVerma, Divisional Commissioner Jammu.
Speaking on the occasion, Sh. Sanjeev Vermacongratulated the CA fraternity & appreciated the role played by CA professionals in the society including smooth implementation of GST. He said CA's are like best friends with whom one can share their financial matters with ease.
CA.ShalayRazdan, Chairman of J&K Branch of ICAI, in his inaugural address welcomed the guests & emphasized on the importance of the CA Day. He thanked the members and students for their overwhelming participation in the whole CA Week. He also urged the members to once again pledge their allegiance to the great CA profession and rededicate themselves to its services as well as the lofty ideals put forth by those who have went before them.
During the program, "Late CAR.C. Gupta Memorial" award, "Late Smt. SudeshSawhneyMemorial Award",Late Sh. Omesh Gupta Memorial Award, "Late Sh. Vinod Gupta Memorial Award, "Late Sh. G.D Gupta Memorial Award", Late Sh. Om Prakash Gupta and Smt. Indu Gupta Memorial Awardto the meritorious students of CA Final examination during 2018.
CA Nakul Saraf, Secretary J&K Branch of ICAI,conducted the proceedings.CALalit Kumar Gupta, (Vice Chairman), CA VinayJamwal (Treasurer) & CA Arvind Dev Jamwal (JKCASA - Chairman) along with a large number of Chartered Accountants, students &their families took part inthe celebrations.
