Handwara, July 2: A shocking video from north Kashmir has surfaced on the internet in which a teacher can be seen threatening to slaughter a minor student with an axe.
As per reports, in Wagat village of Handwara area, a teacher from Bright Future Education Institute, can be seen beating a 10-year-old student with an axe while threatening to slaughter him.
The horrifying incident of cruel punishment in this era was captured on camera. In the video, a student can be seen lying down and his teacher is shockingly threatening him to slaughter, "Close your eyes, pariv sa Kalima saeri (recite Kalima)," the teacher can be heard saying as he tries to mimic the sacred practice of slaughtering animals.
The video has garnered angry reactions as both locals and netizens are demanding stern action against the teacher.
Later, police filed a case under "relevant sections of law" after the video surfaced on social media. "It seems that the incident has taken place at Future Education Institute Wagahat Magam," a police official said. "Cognizance of the same has been taken, consequent to which a case has been registered with FIR No. 167/2019 in PS Handwara under relevant sections of law. Individuals who are believed to have knowledge about the incident are being questioned," he said, adding, "Legal action has been initiated." |
