Machail Mata Yatra: District admin finalizes arrangements

kishtwar, July 4: District Development Commissioner, Angrez Singh Rana today chaired a meeting of concerned officers and finalized arrangements for upcoming annual holy Machail Mata yatra.
The meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Kishtwar, Mohammad Hanief Malik, Addl. SP Kishtwar Nasir Ahmed, Joint Director Planning Mohammad Iqbal, ACD Kishtwar, Anil Kumar Chandail, SDM Paddar Varunjeet Charak, XEN PMGSY, XEN PDD, XEN PHE, Tehsildars, District and Sectoral Officers besides representatives of religious organisations.
The DDC took detailed review of arrangements made by different departments /agencies for hassle free yatra commencing from July 25, 2019 to 5th of September 2019.
The DDC exhorted upon the concerned departments to ensure availability of potable drinking water, electricity, fire wood, telecommunication services, mobile banking facilities, toilet facility, foolproof security, transport, and other essential commodities. He directed to install hoardings at suitable places from Jammu to Machail.
SDM Paddar was directed to ensure overall supervision and monitoring of cleanliness including strict implementation of ban on use of polythene enroute from Gulabgarh to Machail with active coordination of Police department.
SDM Padder was further directed to install dustbins on Kundail to Machail stretch besides suitable places at Gulabgarh.
To check overloading in commercial vehicles during the Yatra period, the DDC asked the Police, Traffic department, ARTO and concerned Tehsildar and Naib Tehsildar to keep strict vigil and take strict action against the defaulters.
It was informed that this year per passenger airfare for one way journey from Gulabgarh to Machail has been fixed at Rs. 2,270 and from Kishtwar to Gulabgarh Rs. 4, 000. The fare for children below 2 years will not be charged.
