| Man held, vehicle seized with MFP of three species in Anantnag | | | | Anantnag, July 5:Authorities on Friday arrested one person and seized his vehicle after Minor Forest Produce (MFP) was recovered from his possession near Daksum in south Kashmir's Anantnag district. Confirming it, Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Anantnag Feroz Ahmad told that on a tip off a naka was laid on Daksum - Margan road during which a vehicle bearing registration no JK14E- 4647 was intercepted. During searches, MFP of three various species namely Saussurea Costus, Artemisia and Trachyspermum Ammi was found and seized on spot, the officer said, adding that the driver of the vehicle was arrested and handed over to police.He said that vehicle was brought to Forest Seizure Depo Khannabal under cover of F-25 and subsequently a case was registered in this regard. He said that the seized items are banned ones. |
