Leaders who promised moons, stars failed to deliver: Munish to people
7/6/2019 11:58:37 PM
Early Times Report
jammu, July 6: Editor, Early Times, Munish Gupta, on Saturday said that politicians cannot befool the people by raising hollow slogans and by projecting themselves as "Messiahs."
Carrying forward his mass contact programme in different areas, Munish said, "Times have changed and so have the people. They cannot be taken for a ride by just raising slogans. People have become politically aware and they cannot be misled anymore."
He said, "Leaders who have represented Jammu region during the past seven decades fed people with slogans and promised them moon and stars but on the ground they failed to deliver."
"As the elections are coming closer we are seeing the former MLAs appearing on streets and getting some jobs done. For the past five years they couldn't spare anytime to visit their constituencies and spare sometime for the people who had voted for them," said Munish, who would be contesting the forthcoming Assembly elections as an Independent candidate from Gandhi Nagar constituency.
"I have come to my people with a hope that they would vote for a change and send a clear message to the leaders, who have ruled them during all these years, that enough is enough and common people cannot be taken for granted," he said.
Munish said, "The overwhelming love and affection which I have got from my people during the ongoing mass contact programme has strengthened my resolve to serve my people."
