Govt College ignores boys prefers girls

udhampur, July 6: Preferring to admit girls, Government Boys Colleges have left the male students high and dry who now look towards private institutions for pursuing their degree course in district Udhampur.
Sources informed that college authorities at Government Boys College are admitting more girls while the Government Girls College is also in the vicinity. Maximum seats in women college are vacant in all the streams like BCA , science (medical and non medical) , com. etc But government degree college boys authorities prefer to girls students , sources maintained
"What is the fun of spending crores of rupees in making girls college if they have to take admissions in boys college.
Pertinent to mention, a few months ago, the government sanctioned laboratories for science stream to government college for women Udhampur.
Male students have expressed concern as they are finding it hard to get admission in the college. Reports said they are seeking help of unions to protest what they called discrimination.
The principal girls college said the principal boys college has been approached in this regard. "He is denying admitting girls but the rality is different," she said.
When contacted to RA Inqlabi special secretary of higher education , said that I will examine the matter and take suitable action .
