Mendhar admin fails to evict un-authorised occupants from State land

Early Times Report
Mendhar, July 7: The administration here has allegedly failed to implement Supreme Court's order directing all revenue officials to evict un-authorised occupants from state/common land.
Zaffar Iqbal, a local of village Gohlad Tehsil Mendhar sought Deputy Commissioner's intervention into the matter in light of Government Order No 135 Rev (NDK) of 2015 dated 25/08/2015 wherein, primary responsibility was fixed on Deputy commissioners, Assistant Commissioner Revenue/ Nazool and Tehsildars were directed to implement the directions of Supreme Court of India in Civil Appeal No1132/2011 titled Jagpal Sing vs State of Punjab and powers conferred by the Jammu and Kashmir Land Revenue Act, Svt. 1996,The Jammu and Kashmir Common Land (Regulation) Act, 1956.
But it is very unfortunate that all illegal occupants are enjoying benefits while there is no land for panchat ghars, hospitals, schools, graveyards, cremation grounds, community centres and government offices.
Only revenue entries were cancelled but no implementation on spot is done which is very much a non-complianc of Supereme Court's directions.
As all revenue field officers are legally bound to initiate suo-motto action under the provisions of land laws/rules/policies in voice in the state. I request him to personal monitor the action taken report and issue further directions for preventing encroachment.
