PAF condemns DYSS for dividing communities on goal posts

Kishtwar, July 9: Prominent political and social activist and President Public Awareness Front Kishtwar Shakir Saddiqui in a press statement issued here today said that Chowgan ground is life line of Kishtwar wherein multiple political and religious functions is being organized inside it since centuries added that it is a symbol of harmony and said that any attempt to divide the people on community based by the District Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) Department is condemnable.
He said that recently DYSS department on its own installed two prominent goal posts inside Chowgan ground Kishtwar that too one for Muslims and other for Hindu community added that this clearly indicates that DYSS officer is intentionly dividing communities on goal post.
Siddiqui further added that Chowgan is not a government property where they can install any kind of prominent structure and suggested that instead they can use moveable goal posts whenever required.
He added that Chowgan ground is" Charagah and it is meant for public to become fresh during lezuire time. He appeals the District administration to uproot the goal posts structure immediately in order to maintain the sanctity of the ground.
He further added the Government should clear that wether it is under the control of KDA or Muncipality. He said that Blboth are claiming the ownership when they required the space of the ground for organising any events. He said the Muncipality officals during Urs of Hazrat Shah Mohammad Fareed Ud Din Baghdadi (RTA) charges fares on Rarewalas and other vendors, when it comes to the beautification of the Chowgan, the muncipal committee pull there hands down and stated that same is the responsibility of the KDA. He said the filthyness of Chowgan is a slap on both.
Siddiqui further added that the PAF in collaboration with public of Kishtwar will not tolerate any kind of encroachment or prominent structure inside.
He said that if DYSS not replaced them immediately, PAF with the help of people will take initiative on its own.
