DDC Kathua reviews implementation of Govt schemes, MGNREGA convergence works

kathua, July 10: To review the implementation of government schemes and rollout calendar of activities during Van Mahotsav celebration besides discussing nature of works to be undertaken in convergence with MGNREGA, DDC, Dr. Raghav Langer today chaired back to back meetings here.
For celebrating Van Mahotsav, the DDC impressed upon the Forest officers to plant trees in addition to their annual specified targets and involve panchayats in the drives for proper care of these trees.
Institutional plantation and plantation in border areas will form the core of District Van Mahotsav celebration, the DDC informed and added that Horticulture, Floriculture and Agriculture Department will also contribute in the Green J&K drive.
He asked district heads to forward their requirement of plant saplings for plantation drive during monsoon season.
For identifying works to be undertaken in convergence with MGNREGA, the DDC stressed on taking up need based works and laying thrust on completion of balance works.
The DDC called for creating durable rural assets through MGNREGA to provide better amenities to the villagers. He also stressed on encouraging community participation while implementing schemes under MGNREGA so that everyone become part of development process. Recharging natural water bodies, protection work for existing infrastructure and increasing farmers' income should be the focus during convergence of schemes, the DDC said. The DDC also took review of implementation of PM Shram Yogi Mann Dhan and PM Kissan Samman Nidhi Scheme in the District.
He stressed on generating mass awareness among targeted populace for effective implementation of these schemes,. He also said that beneficiaries must be facilitated through hassle-free registration for maximum penetration of these schemes. ADDC, Dr. Shubra Sharma, ASP, Ramnish Gupta, Dy Director Employment, D C Bhatti, ACD, Sukhpal Singh, CPO, Uttam Singh, CMO, ALC, CAO, BDOs Executive Officers of Municipal Committees, CDPOs and other District Officers attended the meeting.
