| Sarpanchs acquainted with Govt schemes | | | Early Times Report
Samba, July 10: Sarpanchs of this border district were acquainted with Government schemes including Border Area Development Programme (BADP), Social Security Schemes, Employment generations schemes and others here at an orientation workshop organized by the district administartion.
Chief Planning Officer gave a detailed presentation regarding the functionality of Border Area Development programme. He said that BADP is an important intervention of the Central Government to bring about development of border areas by supplementing the State Plan Funds to bridge the gaps in socio- economic infrastructure on one hand and improving the security environment in border areas on the other. "Various skill development programmes including training for stenographer, computer knowledge, typing courses and other courses shall be offered to habitants of these borders villages" added CPO.
Meanwhile, District Social Welfare Officer also gave a detailed purview of the various central and state sponsored schemes like Old age pension, widow pension, handicap pension and others.
The SWD provided panchayat wise beneficiaries list of pension schemes to the Sarpanchs. They were asked to verify the list and include deserving persons so that a healthy and error free beneficiaries list is generated in the district.
Later Employment department also gave information regarding their schemes to the participants.
Sarpanches attending the assemblage expressed their gratitude and hailed the district administration decision of including panchayat headsman in formulation and feedback of all the schemes of government. |
