POONCH, July 10: Scores of General Line teachers and Masters including women under the banner of All Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh Teachers Federation (AJKLTF) today again gheraoed Chief Education Officer, Poonch in his office for three hours in support of their demand of implementing a transparent transfer Policy.
The teachers have been continuously organizing protest demonstration against CEO Poonch for the past two weeks demanding implementation of transfer policy for general line teachers but CEO Poonch is befooling the teachers by giving false promises, the protesters alleged.
The teachers, who are demanding initiation of process of general line teachers' transfers, alleged that they were forced to stage a peaceful protest led by Mohinder Bali, district president.
The Teachers alleged that hundreds of General Line Teachers and Masters have been working in far flung areas for the past several years but the department has never initiated general transfers as per teachers Transfer Policy despite repeated representations from the general line teachers/masters.
The gherao lasted for almost three hours, thereafter, the CEO agreed to issue another order to the ZEO to submit the received applications to the district committee by or before July 12. The CEO also spoke to Joint Director School Education telephonically and received some guidelines. |
