Administration ignores our suffering, allege shopkeepers

Jammu, July 10: Alleging ignorance on the part of administration, the shopkeepers of the Transport Nagar Narwal today said that they were manning road and drainages in their area on their own, by collecting money.
Administration during past one decade didnot nothing rather than making promises with us, said that disappointed shopkeepers, as the market has been flooded with filthy due to rain . Local shopkeeper Mohd Ashraf, Girish Chander, Abhishek Ghai, Raman, Munna, Kundan Lal, Shamsher Singh, Atam Dev Singh, Puppy, Rakesh, Anil Verma, Mohan Lal, Amarjeet Singh, Karnel Singh, Goldi Suri and other said that despite repeated meetings with authorities, we find no solution yet.
"J&K Bank an year ago adopted Transport Nagar, and promised us to develop the market on the pattern of, model market", they said and added that the day when Paver Ahmed former CEO/MD J&K announced Bank's plan regarding in the Presence of then Divisional Commission Jammu , VC JDA and other officers of administration they all were very gland, but after lapse of one year nothing has been done.
"Though we don't have any regret if the J&B Bank could not fulfil its promises, this entirely responsibility of administration to provide us basic facilities", said Mohd
Ashraf, President Transport Nagar Welfare Association. "Yesterday, we hired a JCB machine to clear nuallah backside the market, as it can be disastrous for us any time during rain, the retaining wall constructed to protect the market from flood has almost caved-in. We paid Rs 12000/- for the purpose, last year we collected Rs 1 lac and spent on various works", said Abhishek Ghai, a local shopkeeper.
They said that when the market was developed by JDA, water tanks were constructed, even pipeline were also laid, but not a single day they got water. "The shopkeepers have installed watercooler at various place for drinking water, but unfortunately, we pay for water to private water supplier even for drinking water".
