Jammu yearning for a change: Munish to people
'Slogans, lip service won't help leaders anymore'
7/12/2019 12:25:14 AM
Early Times Report
Jammu, July 11: Editor Early Times, Munish Gupta, on Thursday said that politicians should acknowledge that they have not lived upto the expectations of people in Jammu region.
Carrying forward his mass contact programme in different areas, Munish informed the people that his decision to contest the forthcoming Assembly elections as an Independent candidate from Gandhi Nagar constituency is directly linked to his heart. "As a journalist I have been reporting miseries of my people for the past one and a half decade. Despite doing everything to awaken the people at the helm nothing much has changed. Our leaders don't care as they remain busy in politicking only," said Munish.
He said, "Jammu lacking basic infrastructure and corruption becoming an integral part of our system are glaring facts which no one can deny. The politicians, who after getting elected forget the electorate, need to be taught a lesson as they have let down their people."
Munish said, "Instead of acknowledging their failures these politicians leave no opportunity to project themselves as Messiahs."
"I appeal my people to give me a chance to represent them. I assure you that I won't let my people down and would work relentlessly to mitigate their sufferings," he said.
Munish said, "The time has come to reject the leaders who have just fed us with slogans and mere rhetoric. Jammu lacking basic facilities is a blot on them. These leaders should acknowledge their failures and call it quits. Time has changed and the common man has become politically conscious."
