Arrangements for launch of Jal Shakti Abhiyan finalized at Kishtwar

KISHTWAR, July 12: Arrangements for launch of Jal Shakti Abhiyan (JSA) scheduled to be launched on July 15 were finalized today here at a meeting chaired by Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), Pawan Kumar Parihar.
The meeting was informed that the Jal Shakti Abhiyan is focused on water conservation and water harvesting.
Launched countrywide from July 1, 2019 the campaign would continue till November 30, 2019 in two phases, even as it will start in Kishtwar from July 15.
Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD) Kishtwar, Anil Kumar Chandail, Assistant Commissioner Revenue (ACR), Dr. Amir Hussain, Dy. CEO Kishtwar, AD Planning, Principals, ZEOs, Headmasters and other concerned remained present in the meeting.
The meeting discussed the five intervention areas of the Jal Shakti Abhiyan including water conservation and rain water harvesting, renovation of traditional and other water bodies, reuse, bore well recharge structures, watershed development and intensive afforestation.
Education department has been assigned a major role of involving the students in the awareness campaign by organizing promotional activities and awareness events in the schools including rallies, Nukkad Nataks, Plantation drives, workshops, seminars.
