Rehmat Cricket Club Doda lifts 15th Gufran Championship Trophy

Doda, July 16: Rehmat Cricket Club (RCC) Doda lifted the title trophy of All India 15th Gufran Memorial T20 Cricket Championship 2019 by thrashing Friends Cricket Club (FCC) Ghat by 08 wickets in the final match held at Sports Stadium, here on Tuesday.
The tournament was organized by Young Star Cricket Club Doda and sponsored by J&K Bank Ltd, Zum Zum Sweets (Kud Wale), Mumtaz Building Material Doda, Hotel Doda Darbar, Green Model Hr Sec School Doda, Shaheen Pub Hr Sec School Doda, Chenab Valley Pub Hr Sec School Doda, Natnoo Furnishing House, Angel Light and Tent House Doda and with the active support of District Administration and District Police Doda
In the finals, batting first after winning the toss, FCC Ghat made a low scoring total of 75 runs for the loss of 10 wickets in 13 overs as none of their batsmen showed much resistance against the disciplined bowling of RCC Doda. Sunil Kumar and Raman Dhiman were the top scorers with 19 and 19 runs respectively followed by Himanshu who contributed 15 runs. For RCC Doda, Sandeep scalped 03 wickets while Rajat Sharma, Ankit Choudhary and Satnam Singh shared 02 wickets each.
In reply, with the good start from opening batsman, RCC Doda team managed to chase the target in just 6.1 overs for the loss of 02 wickets, thus by won the match by 08 wickets.
Punit Kumar played a match winning knock of 29 runs while Satnam Singh added 27 to the total. For FCC Ghat team, Pradeep Nathi and Sunil Kumar picked 01 wicket to each.
Sandeep was declared as Man of the Match for his best bowling performance while Nitin Sharma of Rehmat Cricket Club Doda was declared as Man of the Series for his best all round performance who was given cash prize of Rs 5,000. The match was officiated by Harish Raza, Yousuf Raza as Umpires while Sandeep Koushik maintained the scorebook.
Pertinent to mention here that around 64 teams from different parts of the country participated in 15th Gufran Tournament.
In the closing ceremony, Deputy Commissioner Doda Dr Sagar Doifode was the Chief Guest while Chief Agriculture Officer Doda Shahid Iqbal, Head SR Cemcom Company Pawan Singh, Councillors Asif Jahan Gattu, Shabir Ahmed Ganai, Asif Iqbal Bazdar, Prop Mumtaz Building Material Zia ul Haq, Prof Z A Hashmi, DEPO Ayaz Mughal, HOD DIET Tanveer Ahmed Wani, Dr Basharat Kraipak, Prop Natnoo Furnishing Store Fareed Natnoo, Prop Zum Zum Sweets Sahil Choudhary, Dr Tariq Masood, Director Shaheen Pub HSS Doda Hafizullah Khurwani, District Sports Officer Doda Ashok Kotwal, Vice President JK Peoples Parliament Raza Ganai were the special guests on the occasion
