| ABVP protests lack of seats for undergraduate courses | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, July 18: A protest demonstration was organized by ABVP Jammu at Cluster University office led by Jammu Mahanagar Secretary Prateek Raina. The main issue of the protest was the lack of seats available for the B Com and Arts students in different colleges. While raising slogans, ABVP leaders said that they have already approached the Divisional Commissioner with regard to the issue and it was promised to them that the seats will be increased in different colleges of Cluster University and newly opened colleges under Jammu University. He said the students under ABVP have also gheraoed the Secretary Higher Education for these issues but only Commerce has been introduced in GDC Kunjwani and no seats extension has been made in SPMR, GGM Science College, GCW Gandhi Nagar, MAM College and as the demand was made to make GCW Bakshi Nagar a Co-ed college and introduction of all subjects in that college was also not entertained due to which students had to come on roads to protest for the issue. The students sat on a peaceful dharna outside VC Chamber Cluster University for increasing seats. |
