7/18/2019 11:48:11 PM

Early Times Report
Jammu, July 18: The voluntary retireed State Road Transport Corporation (SRTC) employees are running from pillar to post for justice since last eight years with the authorities at the helm of affairs totally unmoved.
The employees opted for voluntary retirement over eight years back after the SRTC authorities assured them that they will be given all benefits in one go. But since then they are on road side seeking fulfilment of their demands.
Facing apathy of the Government and the SRTC organisation the retrees are left with no option but to continue struggle.
The Government has failed to release arrears of COLA to them which amounts to over Rs 16 crore.
The retirees were earlier promised that their dues will be cleared in one go but nothing was done in this regard till date.
The SRTC Retiree Employees Association while protesting Government apathy accuse Finance Department and SRTC officers for the Nexus to harass them.
The Association said till date 39 retiree employees breathed their last in the hope that Government will come to their rescue some day and release their pending dues but this day has never come.
The Association has now turned the attention of State Governor towards their issues with the hope that justice will be despensated to these happens employees.
