JKNPP demands to restart Health centre in Ramnagar villages, stage protest
7/20/2019 10:46:15 PM
Early Times Report

Ramnagar, July 20: National Panthers Party (JKNPP) activists belonging to several villages of Ramnagar constituency led by Harsh Dev Singh held a massive demonstration in Ramnagar town today in protest against the closure of existing five Health centres in the constituency and their shifting to Udhampur constituency.
The protestors raised slogans against CMO Udhampur and NHM authorities for depriving the people of various remote and far flung villages of the existing facility of Healthcare.
Strongly flaying the Health Deptt for closing down 5 Health and wellness centres in Ramnagar constituency, Harsh Dev Singh sought personal indulgence of Advisor concerned and the immediate revival of such centres in view of widespread resentment created in the affected villages. He regretted that such Health centres which were functional in villages of Dalsar, Sunetar, Sulghar, Chowki Jandror and upper Rassain were closed down arbitrarily by an order issued by CMO Udhampur and the entire staff including doctors and para-medicos alongwith equipments and medicines were ordered to be shifted to various locations in Udhampur constituency without any justifiable reasons.
Earlier the Govt closed down dozens of schools in Ramnagar constituency under the pretext of consolidation, he regretted adding that it even abolished the RET scheme which was introduced for engagement of educated rural youth in staff deficient schools in remote areas.
Harsh Dev Singh further expressed his dismay that in the relevant order no. CMO/Udh/NCD/2019-20/71-75 issued by CMO, the reason for closure of Health centres given by the said officer was in-adequacy of space in the existing tehsil/Assembly constituency. He said that it was a bizarre plea wherein five Health centres operational in one constituency were shifted to another constituency by taking the plea of paucity of infrastructure. Should the people of the concerned villages be deprived of Health facilities only because the Health Deptt has failed to provide adequate accommodation for such centres? Questioned Harsh while lambasting the reckless officers of the Deptt for such 'silly and strange order'.
Supporting the agitation launched in various villages of Ramnagar constituency against the arbitrary and prejudicial conduct of concerned officers in shifting the said Health institutions, Singh demanded immediate roll back of the order. He said that the nasty order of shifting was made to accommodate the blue eyed employees and other staff of these centres in towns in view of their reluctance to serve in hilly and remote areas.
Alleging extraneous considerations in issuance of such perverse order, Singh called upon the Advisor incharge Health Deptt to personally intervene for restoration of the said centres failing which the people would be forced to resort to indefinite strikes and bandhs.
