Early Times Report

Jammu, July 20: Continuing his mass contact programme, Munish Gupta, editor Early Times, on Saturday interacted with residents of Sector 1 and 2 of Trikuta Nagar.
The residents raised various problems faced by them in their areas including choked drains, deplorable roads and streets, damaged streetlights, lack of containers for garbage, etc,.
Munish assured them that he would bring a new system of governance and corruption-free delivery of public services if he's elected as an MLA. "I will deliver what I'm promising with you today. I will end the commission system which elected representatives follow, and will donate my salary for betterment of needy people", Munish told the public in response to complaints that former MLAs have left them to fend for themselves.
During his tour, Munish interacted with Jaspreet Singh, Sunita Dhar, Ranjana Gupta, Sheetal Kohli, Reema, Surekha, Subash Shastri, MD Gupta, RK Rajdhan, Anand, Subash Chander, Ajay Pragal, Mahesh Chand, Menaka Gupta, Dr Rajnish Gupta, Asma Kotwal, Sachin Mahajan, Vipul Gupta, Vidyanshu and others. They informed Munish that even the minor issues of their localities have been left unaddressed by the ex-MLAs.
Most of the residents of these areas said that former MLA Kavinder Gupta never visited the area to know whereabouts of the people who voted for him. "Neither BJP nor Congress took care of us. We have choked drains, damaged streets and roads in our locality", they said and added that even at several places the streetlights have not been installed.
In one voice the residents assured Munish that for betterment of their area they will vote for change, vote for Munish. Youngsters curiously and eagerly discussed problems of their localities. "We regularly read Early Times. You are highlighting public issues in your newspaper and we appreciate your campaign and hope that people will understand you, vote for you for the betterment of this neglected area", the youngsters said.
Happy over the overwhelming response he received during the mass contact programme, Munish requested the masses they can share any grievance with Early Times and same will be highlighted.
The residents also informed Munish that some nallahas are blocked and being a low lying area, they need to be cleaned immediately.
