Early Times Report
KISHTWAR, July 20: Kishtwar police on Saturday registered an FIR against a former People's Democratic Party legislator and some other party members for making provocative speeches during a protest rally held after the Friday prayers against the government's plan to strengthen the Village Defence Committees.
As per details available with "Early Times," the police registered an FIR (No. 163/2019 U/S 120-B and 153-A) against Firdous Ahmed Tak, the ex-PDP MLC, Wasil Doolwal, the party's youth president for Kishtwar, and others. However, no arrest has been made by the police.
"An information was received at police station Kishtwar that Firdous Tak along with Wasil Doolwal and others had unlawful assembled at Bus Stand Kishtwar where they delivered provocative speeches against state government, security forces and against the VDCs with an aim to provoke the youths against the government and security forces. They were found guilty of disturbing the peaceful atmosphere in the district and found guilty of offences U/S 120-B and 153 A RPC. Hence an FIR was registered against them and others for the offences mentioned above,"" read the FIR copy.
Speaking to "Early Times", Tak termed the registration of an FIR as political vendetta and added that if speaking truth is an offence, he will prefer to speak again and again against such forces.
To a question regarding his further course of action, Tak said that law will take its own course and added that he will prefer to follow the constitution and law of the land rather than surrendering before the "political gimmicks of the BJP and RSS."
It is pertinent to mention that over two dozen leaders of PDP headed by Tak on Friday held a strong protest at Bus Stand Kishtwar against creation of new VDCs in adjoining areas of Kishtwar and accused the BJP of arming the RSS carders.
Tak added that former BJP MLA from Kishtwar "is no authority to give the PDP leadership the certificate of nationalism."
While raising anti-BJP and anti-RSS slogans, Tak warn the district administration Kishtwar against following the agenda of divisive politics of BJP and RSS.
He said that there is chaos and confusion among the people of both the communities of Kishtwar over the selection instead of providing the same to common youths. He said that the new VDCs are being created in areas like Kuleed, Wasser, Panditgam and Zelna which are only few kilometers away from Kishtwar town as well as from DC office and added that these areas already have 9 Sector army headquarter. He said that when these areas already had presence of army, police and CRPF, the motive behind this step is clearly visible.
