Doda admin goes tough against racket releasing stray animals in town, bovine smugglers

Doda, July 21: With an aim to put restrictions on the movement of stray animals in the town which are causing inconvenience to the general public of Doda, DM Doda Dr Sagar D Doifode directed the concerned SHO to look into the matter on priority basis. After gathering some inputs, the SHO laid a surprise naka on Barath road during the intervening night of 20th and 21st July and intercepted two vehicles used for transportation of these bovines. Whereas four persons Mohd Salem @ Gulshan S/o Gh Haider Malik R/o Barath, Rashid Hussain @ Toucha S/o Abdul Majeed Shah R/o Sadeeq Abad, Riaz Ahmed S/o Wali Mohd R/o Jodhpur and Mohd Shafi S/o Gh Hassan R/o Barath Doda have been arrested and 18 bovine animals were rescued which were being transported to valley via barath. A case Vide FIR no 40/2019 U/S 188 RPC 3 PC Act and investigation has been started. During the initial investigation it has been found that these bovine animals were earlier smuggled into the township from the adjoining areas of the district and set them free in the town for some days which creates nuisance in the town and then again the above mentioned person's were further trying to smuggle them to valley and also told that more persons in this matter are likely to get arrested as the investigation will move further, as stated by the police officials.
