Early Times Report

Udhampur, July 23: Old building of government central middle school at bus stand here is an open example of apathy and negligence of authorities concerned as the building is abandoned for the last 25 years when department constructed another building for education of children. But the old building presently has become a place of garbage disposal.
It is pertinent to mention here that many government schools and government offices in Udhampur run in rented accommodation.
Locals informed that foul smell emanates from the building as garbage is dumped there and the building and dilapidated condition.
Sources informed that much of the furniture of the building has been taken away by the miscreants.
"The municipality has also kept a blind eye at this garbage dump in the very bus stand area while its politically elected leaders pose for photographs on Swachch Bharat Ahbiyan," a shopkeeper at bus stand said.
The locals also complained of lack of parking space which causes frequent traffic jams.
When contacted DC Udhampur Piyush Singla, said district administration will look into the issue.
He further said that either the building be repaired or dismantled to make something for public use.
