Rajouri, July 23: Even as an employee working with the Rural Development Department here has minted fortunes disproportionate to his known sources of income, including a mall constructed near his office at Sunderbani, the government is silent on the issue.
Official sources said the said employee who started his career as Village Level Worker at the office of Block Development Officer Sunderban and presently has been elevated as Inspector has been into government service around three decades during which he earned a total of around Rs 45 lakh as salary.
His property during the period has however grown manifold totaling to around Rs four crores.
"Apart from a mall near the BDO office, he owns plots in Shiv Khori, and land in Jammu," the sources said.
The locals accused the said person of large scale corruption and demanded a probe into the matter. Despite repeated attempts he couldn't be contacted for comments.
A senior official however said the issue has come to their notice. "Let some investigation agency probe it, we have no issues," said the official in the RDD.
