Plantation drives under greening J&K organises

JAMMU, July 29: A series of plantation drives were conducted today by Urban Forestry Division, Jammu under the theme "Greening J&K" held at JK Police Public School, Miran Sahib in which Chairperson "Police Women Welfare Association" (PWWA), Dr. Rubinder Kour was the Chief Guest.
She started the drive by planting Rudraksh & Chinar trees in the campus of school in presence of Shabnam Mir and Suma Sinha both members of "Police Women Welfare Association" (PWWA), Danish Rana, Shiv Kumar Sharma, SSP alongwith staff members and Children of the school planted 300 plants of different species mainly fruits, ornamental and shady plants. Sh. Sunil Singh Divisional Forest Officer Urban Forestry Division Jammu and Shakeel Ahmed with field staff were also present on the occasion.
Another plantation drive was conducted at Govt. Degree College, R.S. Pura in collaboration with NSS unit of college. Dr. Sunita Sudan, Principal, GDC, R.S. Pura started the plantation drive under the supervision of Prof. Bindu Kumari, NSS Programme Officer. 60 of plants mostly fruit plants were planted during the drive. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Sunita Sudan, Principal appreciates the noble mission of plantation under the theme "Greening Jammu. She also appreciates the contribution of J&K Forest Department. Plantation drive was also conducted at Court Complex, R.S. Pura in which Additional Special Mobile Magistrate R.S. Pura and Munsiff Judge, R.S. Pura planted the plants.
