JKNPP condemns house arrest of its chairman, president
8/8/2019 10:49:37 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Aug 8: Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party (JKNPP) today organized an emergency meeting chaired by its Chief Patron, Prof. Bhim Singh and strongly condemned the placing of its Chairman, Harsh Dev Singh and President, Balwant Singh Mankotia under house arrest.
The house arrest is preventing them from attending the Party meeting called to discuss the present Political situation arising out of the passing of the Reorganization of J&K Bill 2019 by both the Houses of Parliament.
All the members in one voice demanded that the BJP Govt. should stop using such draconian measures to muzzle the political parties of J&K who want the raise the awareness amongst the public regarding the advantages and disadvantages of the passage of this Bill.
JKNPP while welcoming the abolishing of Articles 370 & 35A of the Constitution of India, which has been their long standing demand; have also welcomed granting Union Territory status to Ladakh being the demand of the Ladakhi public. However JKNPP strongly condemned reducing the status of Jammu & Kashmir State to a Union Territory status thus wiping out the 200 years old State of Jammu & Kashmir founded by Maharaja Gulab Singh.
JKNPP has always demanded a dual Jammu State & Kashmir State and therefore Jammu public should have been granted their demand of a Jammu State; instead they are being forced to accept to a Union Territory status along with Kashmir which JKNPP out rightly rejected.
The people of Jammu are thus being forced against their will and being pushed to accept a Union Territory status, which is not accepted by JKNPP at all. It was unanimously decided to carry out a public awareness campaign to raise public opinion against this forcible conversion of Jammu State into a Union Territory which is negating all the sacrifices of the people of Jammu Province.
The meeting was attended by State President Young Panthers & Ex-MLA - Yashpaul Kundal, General Secretaries Anita Thakur, Manju Singh, State Secretaries - Capt. Anil Gour, Shanker Singh Chib, Gagan Pratap Singh, Sham Gorka, Jt. Secretaries - Adv. Kesar Parveen, Khajoor Singh, Desh Rattan Pandita, Provincial President - Rajesh Padgotra, Provincial General Secretary & Secretaries - Naresh Chib & Ravinder Singh Jamwal, Rajesh Gondhi respectively; District Presidents - Jammu Urban and Rural - Vinod Singh Jamwal & Ch. Surinder Chouhan, Kathua - Robin Sharma and Panthers Trade Union -Manoj Gupta and senior members Nirmal Kishore & Yashpaul Sharma and others.
